Local Authority Readiness Assessment (LARA)
The Business
LARA is an online application to support the national rollout of ContactPoint designed to assess the readiness of local authorities and their partners to share child information and also to encourage collaborative working.
The Brief
The website needed to be designed in order for central, local authority and partner users to perform varying tasks. These included creating and assigning web-based assessments, grouping local authorities together, running reports, the ability to view local authorities partners, manage users, add and engage with partner organisations and view a directory of contacts.
The Project
During the development of LARA Greenhouse Design worked closely with the DCSF to ensure that the system would complement how each of the users would interact with each other offline.
LARA allows central users to create dynamic assessment forms and assign them to other levels of user. The assessments contain numerous functions - tabbed navigation for sections, question inputs and help & example links per question. This screenshot is of the central user homepage, which provides an overview of which Local Implementation Teams (LIT) are on target to submit their assessments by the target completion date.
The Result
Launched in 2006 with an ongoing contract. The response from users, post-launch has been very positive and developments to enhance the functionality of LARA have been ongoing. A recent addition is a toolkit, to provide documents and information for local authorities about implementing ContactPoint.
